In ‘Mondriaan en Steiner' the work of Piet Mondriaan is viewed from the ideas of Rudolf Steiner. This esoteric source has so far been practically neglected in art-historical publications about Mondriaan.

Mondriaan did not only cherish Steiner's lectures, but also marked them with pencil marks. For this publication, use has been made of the original collection of transcriptions of the lectures that Steiner gave in the Netherlands in 1908 and which were part of Mondriaan's estate. In terms of research these lectures are linked to Mondriaan’s creative quest for abstraction, resulting in surprisingly new insights.
